Pru Dawes is originally from a completely “non horsey” family and started riding horses at the age of 10 when she immediately fell in love.

Initially it was the adrenaline of going fast that brought Pru to cross country and after that a passion for Eventing. 

After a break in riding to pursue a ski racing and instructing career, Pru returned to equestrian sport aged 21 and has been incredibly blessed to be under the mentorship of Gemma Stevens ever since.

With Gemma’s support Pru started Showjumping alongside eventing which has been career defining in her development as a rider. Additionally having the opportunity to compete at incredible shows such a London GCT and Sunshine Tour has been integral to Pru’s journey. 

2024 was an incredibly important year in that Pru represented Australia at the Young Horse World Championships on Coolnorran Cooley

In 2026 Pru made the step up to 4* with Coolnorran Cooley and finished 14th with a double clear in their first event at the level. 

Looking to the future Pru’s ambition is to continue producing her horses to the highest levels of eventing with an ultimate goal of representing her Australia at Nations Cup Events and championship teams. 

Coolnorran Cooley

Competing at 4* in Eventing including competing at Le Lion 7yr old World Championships. Multiple clears at 4* 135 on showjumping. 

Cooley Will Do competing at 3* in eventing and multiple clears at 2* 125 in Showjumping. 

Touch of Cooley competing at 2* in Eventing and will come out this winter to show jump as a new partnership.
