Tatiane Mauree
-
Showjumper based in the United Kingdom.
Tatiane Mauree’s passion for horses began at just 18 months old when her non-equestrian father took her pony trekking. She was smitten and, as soon as the local riding school would allow, she started having lessons. She got her own first pony, Raffles, when she was 6 years old. She enjoyed showjumping and, when she was 8, by sheer luck, her mum found a 4 year old pony who they later found out to was Raffles brother and together they trained him as a jumping pony, beginning affiliated showjumping when she was 10, and, in her last year on 128cm ponies, qualifying for the Horse of the Year Show, Olympia, The Royal International and Liverpool International.
As she moved to bigger ponies, her talent for producing quickly began to shine. She took her 148cm pony, Boo, from novice level to becoming British Showjumping National Champion, winning Liverpool International and several Pony Grand Prixes in Great Britain and mainland Europe. Throughout her pony career, Tatiane proudly represented Great Britain, earning multiple individual and team Gold medals.
After Boo suffered an injury which resulted in her retirement, Tatiane returned to developing new talent. With limited resources, she started working with two young horses: Pea, a promising youngster, and Pingu, a project horse who needed to be restarted after many years at field due to not having a suitable rider in his previous home. Tatiane uses harmonious training techniques to build a strong, trusting relationship with her horses. This approach focuses on understanding equine behaviour and communication, allowing for a more equal and responsive partnership. By establishing trust and mutual respect, she helps her horses develop confidence and skills in a calm and balanced way.
Her hard work and dedication have paid off, with both horses now competing internationally and, this year, both jumping their first National Grand Prix. Pea placed 6 th in the Welsh Masters Grand Prix as the highest placed female rider or young rider, and 3 rd in the Grand Prix at Chard; she also jumped her first international 1.45m. Pingu has qualified for the prestigious Foxhunter Final at the Horse of the Year Show. She hopes for much more to come as she continues to produce them.
She has bred several young horses from her pony Boo and hopes they excel in the future. In addition to her competitive career, Tatiane works part-time to support her horses, riding for professional yards and teaching. Despite the challenges, she dreams of attending university when she is able to afford it.
Tatiane’s journey is one of dedication, resilience, and an overarching love for horses; driving her toward further success in the showjumping world.

Pea (Lola Minka P) - Purchased as a 5 year old, and has been produced for the last three years. She is wonderfully affectionate, incredibly scopey and the ultimate escape artist (she jumps anything). They have competed to 1.45m so far with their first World Ranking this year.
Pingu (Jantuscha) - Purchased from the field as a project when he was 8 years old. Tatiane re-backed him and took it very slowly for the first 18 months, but in the last year he has qualified for the Senior Foxhunter at the Horse of the Year show!
Roux (Irmani D’09) - Purchased as Tatiane’s first horse, giving the perfect introduction to Seniors. Unfortunately a pre-existing injury resurfaced so after veterinary care and rehabilitation she has stepped down from high level show jumping and has loved pivoting to a new sport - eventing! During her rehabilitation, she had two embryo transfers who have grown into lovely young horses.
Boo (Horseabout Zibu) - Produced from a young horse through the levels since Tatiane was 11 and represented GB when she was 14-16 on several occasions, winning International and National Grands Prix with team and Individual Nations Cup and Nations Cup Final wins. Have also been National Champions. She developed a bone bruise at the end of the last year on ponies and, despite considerable veterinary effort, Tatiane was unable to fully rehabilitate her. She has retired her from competition and bred several foals by embryo transfers.
Young Horses - Bear, Teddy (3 years old) and Pepper (1 year old) are bred out of Boo, Zero (3 years old) and Nine (1 year old) are bred from Roux.
